Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene is slowly approaching New York City.

I have never been in this kind of weather in my life.  Hailing originally from Wisconsin, you’d assume I would have at least been near a tornado.  But no, I’ve not the slightest whiff of one.  Now snow--I have seen my fair share of that.  Spending 6.5 years in Eau Claire, WI, I saw plenty of snow storms.  And cold too!

At any rate. Nees and Vos released our first single from the new album this week.  I’m very happy with the response we’ve seen so far.  All kind words from many corners of the country.  Check it out!

Share it up on Facebook and Twitter.

I’ve also started a new album as a member of The Bobby Sanabria Big Band.  This album will feature an original composition I wrote in honor of Candido, appropriately titled “¡Que Viva Candido!”.  Also will be a feature for Charenee Wade; an arrangement of “Over The Rainbow” that also features some great brass passages and flute improvisations.  That will be released in March or April of 2012.

Summer musings

So here I am again messing with the design of this site. Really, I use this site as a means to learn about more about coding and design. I don’t talk much about music on here, although that may change…

As of right now! A few weeks ago I played at the Apollo with the Bobby Sanabria Big Band. Guest artist were Jon Faddis and Candido.

I took a ton a photos as I don’t imagine I’ll be there playing again in the near future. Seeing the stump was especially cool as I grew up watching Amateur Night at The Apollo. I have a nice photo with my hands on it.

Band sounded great as usual. That music is so amazing. To be more specific, it’s so energetic. I mean, you’d be hard pressed not to move at least one part of your body.

Anyway, not much else going on so far this summer. Some projects going on at the moment:

  • Producing an album for Jeff Walk
  • Mixing and mastering the new Nees and Vos album (not yet titled)
  • Writing a new database system for the Manhattan School of Music
  • Editing a video for trumpeter Philip Dizack
  • Building a website for Liberty and Justice, a Liberian company
  • Retooling parts of Ryan Truesdell’s website
  • And building new sites for Brian Ritter, Jamie Brewick and Jayme Silverstein
OK, that does seem like a lot now.  Damn… I have to get to work.
Here’s To Some Redesign

Well I’m home for the holidays and have some time to kill.

I’m going to monkey with the site design for a bit over a cold Miller Lite.

Happy Holidays.

Buy my camera.

I’m selling a camera.  Never used.  Buy it!  Well I did open the box.  Upon opening the box, I realized I shouldn’t have bought it.  You buy it!  List price is a lot more.

Devastating Earthquake Strikes Chile

A deadly, 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile early Saturday, collapsing buildings, shattering major bridges and highways across a long swath of the country, and sending tsunami warnings along the entire Pacific basin.

I’m Back.

What do you know? I’m back on my own website.

If you’re here, you may as well learn a bit about who I am. If you’re interested in the music I make, please take a look at the link on the right. If you’re interested in my thoughts, you’re nuts. But alas, you are here.

See you soon.
